Educators use a plethora of resources to enhance students' learning. In the process of planning meaningful lessons, we must be sure we know and follow copyright laws. Educational Applications of Technology course had students to complete a copyrights law treasure hunt. One of the things I learned from the assignment is the criteria teachers must follow when a movie is a part of the lesson. A list of the guidelines are mentioned in the image above. Teachers can use infographics to proficiently collect, review, and research internet information. The above image is an infographic of collected data for displaying the effectiveness of technology integration in the classroom. Using the Piktochart was extremely fun because I love creating images. I had never used this tool before neither had I created an infographic. I enjoyed researching and compiling data and determining which information and graph to have in the infographic.

Technology makes learning relevant and interactive for children to retain knowledge and assists teachers with building on prior knowledge. Using iPads, laptops, educational apps, and other interactive tools to increase learning. I created a Technology Enhanced Anticipatory Set (TEASe) project, which is a technology tool that uses multimedia (images, media, music, and text) to enhance and engage students’ learning. It introduces students to a new topic or unit. Using this tool helps teachers to motivate students and get them excited about learning something new. I select culture for the topic. I wanted to introduce second graders to the diverse cultures around the world, and encourage them to explore, appreciate, respect, and value their cultures and the cultures of their classmates. Creating the TEASe project was adventurous for me and time consuming. I had to decide which questions to ask the students and keep it simple. I also searched for the perfect videos, images, and music to make the video come together. I am looking forward to creating TEASe projects for my students, adults, marketing my books, our church, and more. In addition to a TEASe project, teachers can create treasure and scavenger hunts that are task-oriented, thematic, and educational. This will engage students and create interest. The ABCYa.com is a fun tool to use with elementary students. The website divides categories into grade levels and list activities that corresponds to the Common Core Standard (letters, numbers, holiday, strategy, and skill). ABCYa.com helps educators assess students skills, connect prior knowledge, and is a creative tool for evaluating students' work. For example, students can create their own "All About Me" image to introduce themselves to their classmates. Click the above image to learn more about ABCYa.com.
Storybird is another interactive tool to engage students and promote literacy and Web 2.0 Tools can be use for group and independent work. Click here to watch my Screencast for Storybird. Creating the screencast using Screen-omatic tool was pretty simple to use. The only challenge I had was making sure it was too long so I had to redo it several times.

Teacher can use these tools for assessing students' performances. Such tools like Quizzes are great for formative and summative assessment. Use Poll Everywhere traditional and authentic assessment. Create a checklist for students to follow and stay on target or use templates from RubiStar for creating Rubrics to evaluate students' work. Some of these tools are included in my unit plan.

Using social media and other platforms to communicate information has never been more accessible than now. My mind was blown away by the overabundance of resources and support teachers have from social media platform. Educators can use platforms like Weebly, LiveBinders, Google Suite for Education, Explain Everything, Padlet, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for professional development, exchanging resources, collaboration, classroom or teacher's blog, and presentations to better meet the needs of students. When I created an educational account on Instagram and Twitter (visit my LinkedIn) many teachers shared resources, encouraging feedback, strategies, and more to support educators, especially beginner teachers. I was pleasantly surprise by all the support teachers extend to other teachers.
